19 Free Thanksgiving Activities for Toddlers, Preschoolers, and Kindergarteners
Happy Thanksgiving, friend! I love this time of year when we’re intentionally reminded to find things we’re thankful for. AND…since I’m SO thankful for YOU and this time of year is a complete favorite of mine, I grabbed a BUNCH of free Thanksgiving activities from my super sweet teacher-mama friends to share with you! 1. Thanksgiving Color Identification
Looking for an engaging way to practice identifying colors with your kids and students this Thanksgiving? This color activity is a free sample from my Thanksgiving centers for toddlers and preschoolers! It's a super fun way to practice identifying and matching colors with your learners this season. Your learners will simply choose a small card from a sensory bin or wherever you lay them out and match them to a mat with the same color on it. If they're ready for recording sheets, there is a sheet for your learners to practice coloring small pictures as well.
2. Thanksgiving Turkey Alphabet Activity
Working on letter recognition this Thanksgiving? Grab this simple alphabet matching activity to reinforce letter recognition all season long! There are matching mats and small cards for capital AND lowercase letters included, making them perfect to throw into a sensory bin OR use around the room! :)
Gobble, gobble! Let your little one practice building, forming, and identifying numbers 1-10 using this free Turkey Ten Frame Dough Mat and number cards! Use play dough or whatever other kind of manipulative you want to build numbers together.
4. I Am Thankful Writing Craftivity
Get your kids thinking about what they are thankful for this season! They’ll write about what they are thankful for and get to color a seasonal paper topper to decorate their writing too.
5. 2D Thanksgiving Shape Cards
Practice shape recognition and build fine motor skills with these adorable Thanksgiving-themed shape cards! Pick a shape, form it out of play dough, then trace the dotted shapes for extra practice. These are perfect to add to morning bins, centers, or to just use for hands-on shape review!

7. Thanksgiving Counting Clip Cards
These free Thanksgiving themed counting clip cards are the perfect way for little learners to practice counting numbers 1-5. Just add some clothespins and you have a fun way to practice fine motor skills while practicing counting and one-to-one correspondence.

Little ones will choose a card, name the number, and match it to the correct ten frame. Add these cards to a sensory bin, or put them in a bag to play "Turkey in a Bag." So many fun ways to build number sense and practice subitizing.
11. Thanksgiving Counting Puzzles
These Thanksgiving Counting Puzzles will make rote and skip counting by 1s, 5s and 10s lots of fun! They're perfect for throwing in a fall leaves sensory bin or laminating for multiple uses.
12. Turkey Emotions
Practicing emotions is super fun with this Thanksgiving-themed sorting activity! Add the cards to a sensory bin or use as is to review feelings with these cute little turkeys all season long.
13. Thanksgiving Write the Room Alphabet Practice
This Thanksgiving Write the Room activity is a great way for students to practice letter recognition and formation all while being able to get up and move. The letter cards can be printed and used as a Write the Room, small group or literacy center/station or even placed in a sensory tub.
14. Turkey Bump Game
Turkey Bump is a fun and easy game to practice number recognition, counting, and subitizing with your preschooler or kindergartener. Roll the dice and cover the turkey with the same number of feathers, but watch out because your opponent may just bump you out of your spot!
15. Thanksgiving Counting Sensory Bin
This free sensory bin is a great way to get some hands on counting practice. Little learners will choose a card from the bin and then add the same number of feathers to their turkey. The number, number word, and correct number of feathers are on the turkey card so that little ones can check to make sure they put the correct number on their turkey. Then, they take the feathers off and repeat with another card.
This editable resource is a great way for little ones to get ready for Thanksgiving and practice their fine motor skills and imagination with some coloring and drawing. Hope it adds a little color and creativity to your family’s table!
