7 Lucky Charms Activities, Sensory Bins, and Centers
Everyone loves Lucky Charms, right?! They’re the PERFECT way to get learners engaged and excited about learning. So, check out these hands-on activities that are perfect for sensory bins and centers for little learners.
They’re great ways to practice letter names and sounds, counting, shapes, and colors this St. Patrick's Day! Use them at home, as centers, whole group activities, small group learning, early finisher activities, or even to leave for a sub day. There are even activities that are great for toddlers and preschoolers…keep scrolling to see all the lucky fun!
1. Lucky Charms Shape Matching
With this sensory bin, your little learners will choose 2 small Lucky Charms shape cards and match them to the larger shape mat. You can hang these mats around the room or leave them out on tables? Whatever works best for your kids. Then, they can write the shape name and color on the recording sheet if they’re able. Perfect for shape identification practice!

Learners will look at the spring-related picture on the large card and then find the upper and lowercase letters that represents the beginning sound of the picture. They’ll match the two Lucky Charms letters to the mat and then write the letters below using dry erase marker.
3. Lucky Charms Play Dough Mats and Colors
With these shape mats, learners will build the Lucky Charms shape on the mat using play dough or pipe cleaners and then choose the correct color word card to place at the bottom of the mat to match the color of the shape. Super fun practice for fine motor skills and color identification!

4. Lucky Charms Color Matching
Practicing colors?! This sensory bin is perfect for you! Your learners will simply choose a small Lucky Charms color card and match it to the larger shape card with the same color. Then, they can color each shape on the recording sheet the corresponding color. It’s a great way to practice colors and coloring skills too.

5. Lucky Charms Letter Puzzles
Using these letter puzzles, learners will practice upper and lowercase letter identification as well as beginning sounds. Simply put together the letter puzzles by matching the upper and lowercase Lucky Charms letters pieces to the picture that begins with that letter. Afterward, they can write the upper and lowercase letters on the recording sheet beside the matching picture.
6. Lucky Charms Counting Practice
With this center, learners will practice counting the Lucky Charms in a bowl. And, for added fun, you can give them real Lucky Charms to mat the bowl on the card! :) They’ll just choose a card, count how many of a specific Lucky Charm there is in the bowl, and then find the matching Lucky Charms card with the correct number on it to match to the first card. Great for problem solving and leaving out extra information AND counting practice!
