8 FREE Easter Activities for Your Preschoolers

It’s that time of year for all the baby animals, egg hunts, and all kinds of fun Easter candy! So, to celebrate wonderful Easter time and share some fun, I collected a BUNCH of FREE Easter themed activities for us all to use with our little ones this spring.

1. Easter Interactive Worksheets

Looking for an easy way to incorporate Easter into your little ones’ learning times? This free sample of printable activities are interactive, engaging, AND no-prep! Just print them out and get started with the fun. There are 3 printable worksheets included here and they’re perfect for practicing a variety of math and literacy skills that preschoolers and kindergarteners need to master.

2. Easter Math & Literacy Activities

Reinforce counting, matching, and letter recognition this spring with these free Easter activities! These adorable activities work well for small group activities, as a math or literacy center, or even for morning work.

3. Easter Emergent Reader Booklet

Need a fun, easy way to incorporate Easter into your reading time this spring? This free emergent reader booklet is a perfect way for kids to practice fine motor AND reading skills!

This printable booklet is great to practice reading skills by using repetitive text and visual cues that preschoolers and kindergarteners need to practice regularly.

The booklet can be used as an independent center activity, for learning at home, or as a whole group activity too. Your learners will complete the booklet by coloring, cutting, and gluing a picture to each page and then reading the predictive sentence with their picture of choice.

4. Easter Chick Shape Hunt

This free Easter shape hunt is a perfect way for kids to practice fine motor AND math skills this spring! This printable activity is great to practice shape skills by identifying shapes, coloring them, and even creating them.

These matching mats and cards can be used as an independent center activity, for learning at home, or as a whole group activity. Your learners will complete the shape hunt by finding a shape card, matching it to the mat, and then creating it as directed or coloring it on their recording sheet.

5. Easter Egg Color Sort

You can reinforce color recognition and sorting by color this Easter with this simple and engaging Easter egg activity. Your learners will identify colors and place the colored eggs on the appropriate color sorting mat. This resource can be used as a center activity, small group practice, or a quiet-time or busy bag activity.

Inside, you’ll find a sorting mat and six pictures for the colors blue, green, yellow, pink, and purple. You can also use this resource to sort by attribute, make duplicate copies of the picture cards and match pictures that are the same to reinforce visual discrimination skills, or play "Concentration" to develop visual memory.

6. Easter Color the Room Activity

Practicing colors is a SUPER simple skill that’s perfect to practice at Easter time! This free “color the room” activity is a great way for kiddos to practice colors identification WHILE getting their wiggles out.

This printable activity to practice identifying colors and color words also helps little learners develop fine motor skills. Students will find a card, read the color word, and then color the picture on their recording sheet that matches the picture on the card.

Color the room activities can be used as an independent center activity, as informal assessments, or as a whole group activity too. Grab yours by clicking the picture!

7. Easter Egg Letter Hunt

This freebie is a really fun way for kids to practice letter with a fun, Easter twist! There are 6 different recording sheets included so you can differentiate for every little learner! There are resources for both upper case and lower-case letters and mats included.

You can laminate the colored eggs and place the cards in a sensory bin and students will choose one egg at a time to either cover, color, trace, or write on the recording sheet. OR, you can use this activity as a write the room! Just hide the eggs around the room and pass out the letter hunt mats on clipboards. Students will color in the square with the corresponding letter when they find it, trace the letter, or write the letter.

8. Easter Scissor Practice

Need a fun way to improve your kids' scissor skills? These adorable Easter egg puzzles are a fun, colorful way to get those scissors going this spring! Just print out the Easter egg shapes on colored cardstock or paper, cut out the oval shapes, and let your kids go to town practicing cutting on the lines. Grab your copy here!
