With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it’s time to bust out all the Thanksgiving and turkey themed fun! So, to get you in the mood for yummy food and family time, come peek at six free Thanksgiving activities that I created for us all to use with our little learners this holiday. Just click any picture to grab your own copy of the free resource shown!
Get ready to bust out the playdough with this one! Your little ones will practice identifying letters and numbers by choosing a card and then smashing playdough in the space they see that same letter or number. Great fine motor practice and letter and number identification at the same time!
To play this game, your learners will need clothespins or small manipulatives to identify the pictures that match the picture in the center of each card.
3. Thanksgiving Dinner Letter Cover
Your preschoolers and kindergarteners can use stickers or dabbers for this one. They’ll simple cover the circle with the letter printed on it and practice saying the letter name or sound in each spot. You can extend this activity by having them write the letter themselves or think of a word that starts with the letter too!
To work on this simple activity, your kiddos will simply spot the letter T and cover it with a sticker, dabber, or small manipulative as they name the letter and make the letter sound. Extend this activity by having kiddos write the letter or think of a word that starts with the letter.
Your learners will practice identifying shapes by choosing shape cards and then matching the cards to the mat on top of the same shape or shape word. It’s a great way to practice identifying shapes as well as beginning to recognize shape names as well!
This simple activity is perfect for you to complete with your little ones as they think of a few things that they’re thankful for and write them on turkey feathers. Then, your little one can practice their fine motor skills by coloring the picture, covering it with stickers, or painting parts of it.
